FERRARIS: the family story since 1885



The story of the Ferraris family business starts in 1885.

At the beginning Giovanni Ferraris decides to move to Borgomanero from a small village in the province of Novara, to learn to be a clog maker.

 He cannot imagine that this decision would mark the history of his family for the next generations.
When the owner of the clog workshop dies, Giovanni ,who has learned tricks and secrets of the trade, decides to start his own business by opening an artisanal workshop and a store of wooden clogs in the central area of the town, Corso Roma.



 With four of his five children, Giovanni spends all his energies for his work, and soon the shop becomes a point of reference, recognized as a symbol of quality and craftsmanship. His sons Domenico, Angiolina and Teresa, supervised by their excellent dad, were dedicated to the production, while Pierina is responsible for sales in the store.
Luigi, Domenico’s son, was born in 1935 and since adolescence, he proves to have the right business sense ... after all, it’s the family’s distinctive feature



 At the age of 15 years Luigi begins to support his aunt Pierina in the Corso Roma store. With his arrival, transformation is the watchword!



 In the following years, beyond the craft production, the family introduces the very first collections of shoes made in Italy: slippers, classic shoes and the first women's shoes with heels.
In '64, with the death of Domenico, the production of clogs ends and Luigi remains the only one to carry on the business, specializing in the sale of select footwear.
The brands sold in the store increase and the offer becomes more and more well-structured.





 In 1980 Luigi marries Carla, who joins the company and, thanks to her strong inclination for business and passion for fashion, introduces the first avant-garde collections.
The excellent teamwork of the couple and the perfect synergy between them will be the key to success.



 The development t of the business brings Luigi and Carla to a necessary expansion as in the late 80's they decide to move to a bigger store, with designer furniture and large windows designed to expose their products. Many excellent brands come one after the other during the years: Colette, Alexander Nicolette, Timberland, Moreschi, Casadei, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Church's and many others.
 The boutique becomes a point of reference for those who appreciate fashion as a guarantee of quality, good taste and innovation.
In 2003, their son Paolo decides to join the company.
Thanks to a deep research and strong dedication, Paolo introduces major changes: new brands carefully selected and in 2011 the landing in the web world with the first e-commerce signed Ferraris Boutique.

 

In 2014 the family completely redesign the interior of the shop, creating a fresh and luminous atmosphere, characterized by the use of white and wood furniture, obtaining a cozy and refined location.

 Today the company opens to the foreign market with an accurate e-commerce service, a strong presence on social networks and an official blog to share the latest news and insights with their clients.
